Nordplus project in Saaremaa, Estonia February 26–March 2, 2018

Below please find the participants’ reports of the Nordplus project in Saaremaa, Estonia in English, Swedish and Finnish:

The first day, Monday, February 26, 2018, was reserved only for travelling. It took us about twelve hours to reach Saaremaa. Once we finally reached Saaremaa the local students took us to our hostel. The rest of the day was just for us to rest, so that we could be ready to do work the next day.

The next day, Tuesday, was more about getting to know each other than to do a lot of work like I had originally thought we would be doing. We had some ice breaker games and we had a presentation about our school, country, city and ourselves. We got a tour around the school and we got to know more about the school. After lunch and some quick energizers two people came and told us more about the global goal Quality Education. When they were done we got sorted into groups and we played a few games to get used to our group.

On Wednesday we had more brain work. We worked mostly on a small workbook about Quality Education in our assigned groups. We were told to choose a problem to work around and make a presentation about. That is almost the only thing we did that day. To end the day, we could go swimming, skiing or play ‘Just Dance’.

On Thursday we had a field trip around the city. We walked around as a group and got to know more about the city. We ate lunch at a restaurant and went to the castle in the town, which was a museum. After having walked around the museum we had free time up until 18.00. We had dinner and a farewell party. We played a few games and gave feedback. After that we went back to the hostel to pack and to rest for the trip back home.

Friday was all about getting home. It took us about ten hours to get home. When we reached Finland we, Joy, Nico and I parted ways with the rest of the group as we got our own ride home. When everyone was home all that was left to do was rest for school on Monday.

Palattuamme Helsinkiin, meinasi kaupan kassalla lipsahtaa muutama sana englanniksi.
